Well Derrik had his 18 month mark. He burned his pants to celebrate. Then that's a picture of him and a cute puppy. Derrik is doing good. He wrote us today and told us about the Day Of The Dead celebration in Mexico. he wrote, "So i am going to tell you all a little bit about The day of the Dead, it is a holiday from the catholics, and what they do is they set out offerings which includes a special bread they make which is really good, and tamales, fruits, and whatever else you want to put out. They put it on a table with some lit candles and there are a few days, one for the kids, and the adults, the ancestors that have died. They say that the spirits come and eat the offerings. So i was talking to someone about it and i asked her, "so what do you all think when you wake up the next day and all the food is still there?" haha, and she said, "oh...well we believe that they only eat the flavor, because it tastes different." and i thought to myself, well duh! becuase its been sitting out for 3 days! haha. but they really think that. I cant be rude though, its their tradition. " haha good ol' Derrik!
